What AI judging is about
- Our AI technology Iris uses a mix of Machine Learning and traditional Natural Learning Processing to create comprehensive reports for fiction manuscripts.
- Your manuscript is analysed and compared against millions of existing texts, both successful and unsuccessful ones.
- Iris predicts your manuscript's sales potential, how much your work matches your specified genre, and how well your style resembles a typical bestseller across 30+ dimensions, including reading difficulty, pacing, emotional fit, active vs. passive voice, etc. (learn more).
- The accumulation of these metrics is used to assess and rank your manuscript in this competition.
How It Works
- Please study our participation guidelines first
- Click on the submit button to start the submission process
- Upload the synopsis and the first 20 pages of your novel via the MyPoolitzer submission software
- Conveniently pay the entry fee of 30 USD using the Stripe payment link that you will receive by email
- Each submission is evaluated using Quantifiction's Iris AI manuscript assessment system
- After the closing date, we will contact the top 10 shortlisted authors and ask them to submit their full manuscripts
- The final judging will be conducted by both, Iris and our panel of human judges
- The winner gets published by Blue Denim Press, a renown publisher of quality literary prose
Participation Guidelines
- Authors of general adult fiction written in English can apply
- Entry to the program is open to applicants world-wide who write for an English-speaking audience
- Manuscripts submitted by applicants must be their own original, unpublished work and should be strong commercial fiction
- The following types of work are not eligible: Poetry, Comic Books, Young Adult or Children’s Books
- Manuscripts must be a maximum of 80'000 words in length
- Both emerging and established writers are invited to apply
- We don’t allow content generated by AI.
- Applicants must be aged 18 years or older

Anna Sarelas writes upper middle grade and young adult fantasy that Jaclyn Moriarty describes as ‘Delightfully original, twisty-turny, and thought-provoking.’ Anna has a Graduate Diploma in Creative Writing, Lightworkers is her debut novel. If Anna is not writing, she is chasing laughter – with friends, shows, or wherever laughter is to be found..
Timo Bozsolik-Torres, CTO, Quantifiction Inc.
Timo used his ML expertise to fight COVID, catch money launderers, predict customer churn, analyze natural language, and in quant trading. Timo's work as an author of The Scaevola Conspiracy gave him deep insights into the publishing industry, which he used to combine his passion for writing and ML, and started Quantifiction.
